Abbey Lane

Bio

Hey guys!

My name is Addey Lane and I'm a singer / song writer / musician born and raised in South Bay (Torrance), California. I spent two years at Arizona State University before returning to So Cal to do what I love and belong doing. When I first got home, I jumped back into piano lessons which I started at age 7. I also picked up a guitar, and began to teach myself how to play. One day, a friend called after hearing an open audition call on popular L.A. radio stadion 102.7 KIIS FM. I was one of thousands who auditioned, but only one of few who received the news of winning classes at L.A's world renown Musician's Institutes's Theatre of the Performing Arts. I studied under former Maverick recording artist, former Dreamworks songwriter, and super hottie Alex Cantrell. After two semesters at Hollywood Theatre of the Performing Arts (which recently changed it's name to Hollywood Pop Academy), the director of the program, Greg Himmelstein, recommended me and two other girls to a producer friend of his for a solo project he had in the works. This producer worked for Sony Music for years and had the song "Dream weaver" and many others to his writing credit. I worked my ass off, and learned, for three years on this project before leaving to pursue my career alone where I would have total creative control. I hooked up with a few different local musicians to begin writing my baby. Two of the musicians Julian Neves and John Peterson, are a guitar and bass player in the band The Ursa Mare. They both had attended, and graduated with honors, from Musician's Institute as well. We wrote four songs together, two of which are found on Shades of Gray. Another guitar player / song writer I worked, and still work with, is former Nashville studio musician Rod McMillan. He and I co-wrote six other songs together for Shades of Gray, and continue to play live together to date. I also came to know and love producer / engineer / drummer / wiz kid extrordinaire Mike Detto, and trained with the world's greatest vocal couch ever, Seth Riggs. I credit my confidence and vocal abilities to Seth, my vocal Yoda, the most amazing coach anyone could have. Together with all the knowledge, talent, and time spent in the seat on my side, Shades of Gray has finally become a reality from one of my many, amazingly bizarre, terrific dreams. I'm now getting  tour dates together, and promoting Shades of Gray, and will be back in the studio late next year for work on my second studio album. I hope you all love it, and thanks so much for all the continued support!

I love you guys!
